Buddy Martin is a New York Times best-selling author, a distinguished, third-generation, Florida-born-and-raised journalist and sports blogger who has won nearly 200 awards. In 2016, he co-authored Amazon’s No. 1 selling football book,“Head Ball Coach: My Life in Football,” with former Florida, South Carolina and Duke coach Steve Spurrier, published by Blue Rider Press — one of his seven books.
Emmy Award-Winning Producer
In a recent column, Brad Rogers of the Ocala Star-Banner wrote of Martin:
"Martin has used his immense talents since coming home to be a civic advocate and activist. He has strived mightily to elevate the community conversation and enhance Ocala culturally. So while the Spurrier book event was supposed to recognize a legendary football hero and his new book, it was also a tribute to a homegrown talent that went away, found success, then came home to give back to the city he calls home, to the city he loves. But he’s a big-time, best-selling author now. What’s next?"

What’s “next” for Buddy has been a new time and place for his popular daily sports talk show, The Buddy Martin Show, which has enjoyed a huge success on social media in a digital platform. And now the relaunching of BuddyMartinMedia.com, a website dedicated to quality writing and reporting about Gator athletes, coaches and topics past, present and future.
Martin and Beard have more than a combined century of experience covering Gator sports and broadcast daily on The Buddy Martin Show.
Martin is the founder and president of Buddy Martin Media, syndicator of The Terry Bradshaw Football Show which Martin has hosted for four years.
Meanwhile, Buddy plans to keep going strong as an author. "I want to write more books. I don’t know what they’re going to be about, but I want to write books." Rogers wrote: "In short, Buddy Martin is going to do what Buddy Martin does best, what he loves. Good for him. Good for us."
Martin also authored "Urban’s Way," the official biography of Florida coach Urban Meyer, and Buddy’s fourth book on Gator football. In addition, Buddy co-authored the autobiographies of two Hall of Fame athletes: Terry Bradshaw, "Looking Deep", and Dan Issel, "Parting Shots."
Martin is a product of the UF Journalism School and the former sports editor/columnist of Florida Today, The St. Petersburg Times, New York Daily News and Denver Post. He has also won awards as both a managing editor and newsfeatures editor, including the prestigious New York State Associated Press Feature Award, and his Charlotte Sun staff was one of three finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for news reporting. He won an Emmy as an associate producer for "The NFL Today Show" on CBS.
Martin was also co-creator of "The Sports Journalism Summit" at The Poynter Media Institute in St. Petersburg.
